Service to the Profession

As a teacher with abundant experience in the use of technology, I feel an obligation to share some of my experiences, tools, and practices with other faculty. As a result, I have delivered several Professional Development presentations at QU.

  • Microlearning Ideas – Three (mostly) Simple Tools I’ve Used in my Labs (May 24, 2022) – Slides
  • Sharing teaching experience related to teaching excellence in Sciences and Applied Sciences Cluster, CAS-Spring 2021 (April 5, 2021) – Slides
  • Creating Interactive Online Teaching Resources Using H5P (April 8, 2019) – Slides
  • Creating Interactive Online Teaching Resources Using H5P (March 11, 2019) – Slides

I have also prepared a few videos to help our faculty use our LMS (Blackboard) to prepare online tests/quizzes during the initial COVID19 shutdown.

Similarly, I recorded some videos to assist our faculty in preparing their faculty profile pages on a newly launched content management system:

Service to Students

I have also prepared various presentations aimed at our students. These were delivered outside of regular class time; some in-person, some online, and some were delivered in person first and then recorded separately for asynchronous access. Here are a few examples.
