The BIOL 212 Genetics Lab introduces students to the basis of heredity – meiosis, and to some of the methods of transmission genetics. Students perform experiments which familiarize them with the principles of heredity and help them to better understand the consequences of meiosis and gene interactions.

The lab introduces students to microscopy, slide preparation, and viewing chromosomes at different stages. It also gives students some exposure to genetic problem solving.
