Biography

Mohammed J. Al-Marri is a Professor and current Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering (since 2023). He earned his MS in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station (2000), and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds (2009). He has been a faculty member at the department since 2009.

Prof. Al-Marri previously served as Manager of the Industrial Relations Office (2012–2013) and as Director of the Gas Processing Center (2013–2017). His research focuses on gas processing, water treatment in Oil & Gas Industry, catalysis, and molecular modeling. He has published extensively in leading scientific journals and contributed to numerous international conferences.
