I obtained a DPhil in organic chemistry from Menofia University, Egypt, in 2012, in collaboration with the University of Stavanger, Norway. I joined National Research Center (NRC), Egypt, as a senior researcher from 2004 to 2012, mostly on green chemistry projects. I became an associate professor at the National Research Centre, Chemical Industries Research Division, Department of Green Chemistry, in July 2017. I moved to the University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway, in 2012. He has worked in several scientific positions at the UiS, e.g., researcher and associate professor in chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Department of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Engineering (IKBM). In 2020, he was working as a Principal Investigator on a new project entitled ‘Magnetic Recycling of Oilfield Production Chemicals – A New Green Approach Giving Zero Chemical Discharge’ (Funded by the Research Council of Norway, 12.6 Milion NOK, RCN, Program: PETROMAKS 2–Large-scale Programme for Petroleum Research). Currently, he joined Qatar University (QU) as an Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Earth Sciences (DCES).
