Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Director in all matters related to the administration and management of the Core Curriculum Program
  • Organizes and expedites flow of work and initiates follow-up actions with faculty, CCP committees, all departments and the QU community
  • Researches and gathers data for program reports
  • Assists in conducting research related to the needs of the Core Curriculum Program
  • Conducts preliminary analysis of data
  • Recommends report content and format to display findings most effectively
  • Conduct literature search
  • Help with data collection and analysis
  • Assists in conducting research/benchmarking related to the needs of the Program in order to enhance its quality
  • Composes and produces a variety of business correspondence, reports, confidential documents and/or forms, and related materials
  • Translates materials as and when necessary
  • Assist in liaising with other departments planning to contribute courses to the Program and follow-up calls for proposals
  • Assist with monitoring the implementation of the CCP strategic plan, action goals and objectives
  • Assist in monitoring the flow of CCP activities and assist in addressing any issues
  • Prepare and monitor faculty observation schedules as directed
  • Coordinate and handle Non-QU course equivalency requests
  • Coordinate activities of CCP committees
  • Coordinates marketing CCP activities
  • Helps with academic faculty recruitment (i.e. job advertisements on professional web portals, receiving C.V’s, scheduling and coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, preparation of all recruitment forms and paperwork, workload confirmation, follow-up recruitment requests and faculty contract renewals with the VPAA’s Office)
  • Digital Measures Representative, managing evaluation reports and follows-ups with faculty for any missing information or data, ensures evaluations are done properly before the deadline, provide necessary support to CCP faculty and liaison with Faculty Affairs Office for any inquiries raised by CCP faculty.
  • Ensures confidentiality and controls access to sensitive information such as faculty reports on Digital Measures
  • Budget preparation by gathering historical data, such as materials and supplies
  • Coordinates operational and capital budget preparation and monitoring and initiates follow-up actions and prepare and submit relevant reports
  • Tracks and monitors assigned budget expenditures and/or special actions and reports on variances.
  • Submit justifications for budget items deficit if any
  • Coordinates CCP purchases of textbooks (in printed and electronic formats) with the suppliers and relevant departments, such as Procurement Department
  • Provides projections for academic and administrative purposed, as directed
  • Provide CCP courses update to reflect on QU undergraduate catalogue
  • Update documents in the SharePoint website for record keeping and retrieval
  • Responds to inquiries or requests for information or refers to supervisor, as appropriate
  • Provides technical support and design of enhancements
  • Interacts with university offices and/or supervisor’s subordinates to facilitate communications and information exchange
  • Provide support to CCP faculty and respond to student inquiries
  • Help with the scheduling process, using the working systems such as Web Data Collector, COGNOS and Banner, follow-up and monitor enrollments and do faculty assignments on Banner – Oracle
  • Prepares a wide variety of reports as requested
  • Performs other administrative responsibilities and duties as directed by the CCP Director
