Dr. Alzoubi obtained her PhD (Computer Engineering, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Cleveland, Ohio, USA) in 2010, and both Master’s (Embedded Systems, 2004), and Bachelor’s degrees (Computer Engineering, 2002) from Yarmouk University, Irbid-Jordan.

Dr. Alzoubi has more than ten years of teaching and research experience. She held a Postdoctoral/Researcher position at the University of Waterloo in Canada from July 2012 to June 2015. In this position, Dr. Alzoubi led the research and development of the medical system, “Portable Automated Intelligent System for Continuous Oxygen Monitoring and Adjustment Oxygen Delivery for Hypoxemic Patients”, and she was CO-PI for this funded project. As a PhD student at CWRU, she participated in a DARPA-funded research project on MEMS Microcontroller.  She has published nine academic papers in prestigious conferences and journals. She received the best paper award in ISQED 2011.

Her academic positions include teaching at Conestoga College in the Embedded Systems Development Graduate Program (Kitchener, Canada). In Jordan, Dr. Alzoubi was a full-time faculty member of the Department of Communications and Computer Engineering at Tafila Technical University (TTU) from January 2011 to January 2013. She was a lecturer in the Computer Engineering Department at Yarmouk University from September 2004 to August 2007, and a lab instructor/Engineer from February, 2002 to July, 2003 in the same Department.

Dr. Alzoubi has gained multi-disciplinary experience during her academic journey, and received numerous scholarships and fellowships at the aforementioned institutions.

Dr. Alzoubi’s research interests lie in Biomedical and Health Systems, Embedded Systems, VLSI Circuit Design, Near Field-Sensing, Emerging Technologies (NEMS switches and Nanotechnology).
