I obtained my Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the Université de Montréal-Canada in 2009 and pursued my postdoctoral training at the Montreal Heart Institute-Canada (2008-2010) and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (2010-2012). Between 2012 and 2016, I worked as a scientist at the Qatar Cardiovascular Research Center, a member of the Qatar Foundation. In 2016, I joined the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Qatar University as an Assistant Professor of Biomedical and Biological Sciences, and I was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. I was appointed as coordinator of graduate studies in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences (August 2019-August 2021) and research coordinator in the Sciences and Applied Sciences Cluster-College of Arts and Sciences (August 2021-present). My research interests include nanomedicine, plant medicine, and toxicological studies using cellular and animal models. Other areas of interest are cancer biology, thrombo-inflammatory reactions, and biomarkers research. Since I joined Qatar University, I have received several grants from the Qatar National Research Fund and Qatar University, and I have more than 31 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and have contributed to numerous abstracts and presentations at national and international meetings.
