• Univ100 - First Year Seminar Course

First-Year Seminar is designed to equip first-year students with the knowledge and skills needed for their personal growth and academic success, while transitioning from high school to university. The course is designed on three components: know yourself, know your campus, and know your society and the world. Students will be engaged in activities that promote critical thinking skills through free reading, civic engagement and research topics related to the Qatari community. This emphasizes students’ role as citizen scholars in society and develops skills necessary for life-long learning.

The philosophy of this course is based on understanding and developing our relationship as individuals with the university community surrounding us and the society in which we live so that we become successful in our life and effective citizens in our society. Therefore, this course focuses on strengthening the relationship at three levels: personal, community, and society.
