Education and Experiences
Dr. Ali M. Alodat is a distinguished educator and researcher whose career has been dedicated to advancing inclusive and gifted education. With an impressive educational journey and a wealth of experience, Dr. Alodat has made significant contributions to the field of special education, both in Jordan and on the international stage.
Dr. Alodat’s academic journey began in 1999 when he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education at the University of Jordan. After completing his undergraduate studies, he embarked on a Master of Arts program in Special Education at the same institution. His thesis reflected an interest in enhancing students’ educational experiences with diverse learning needs. Dr. Alodat’s quest for academic excellence led him to Wayne State University in the United States, where he pursued a Ph.D. in Special Education. His research during this period centered on identifying gifted and talented children in kindergarten and elementary school using cognitive assessment tools.
After earning his Ph.D., Dr. Alodat continued to expand his knowledge and expertise through post-doctoral research experiences. At Purdue University, he worked on a research project focused on identifying and teaching gifted Syrian refugee students in Jordan. After his Purdue University tenure, Dr. Alodat joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. His research activities there focused on empowering refugee students with disabilities in Jordanian schools.
Dr. Alodat’s commitment to special education and inclusive practices led him to an academic career where he has continued to make a lasting impact. He has held positions as an Assistant Professor at Yarmouk University in Jordan and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Purdue University in the United States.
Recognizing his expertise and contributions, he currently serves as an Associate Professor at Qatar University in Doha, Qatar, within the College of Education’s Psychological Sciences Department.
Research and Publications
Dr. Alodat’s extensive research portfolio covers a wide range of topics in special education and inclusive practices. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals. It has addressed critical issues, such as the effectiveness of universal design for learning, psychosocial support for refugee students with disabilities, and the identification of gifted refugee students.
He has also actively engaged in international conferences, presenting his research findings and contributing to the global discourse on inclusive and gifted education.
