About me

I am a marine chemist and faculty member in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Qatar University, where I have been teaching since 2015. My academic and research background is centered on chemical oceanography, marine biogeochemistry, marine pollution, and environmental chemistry, with particular interest in understanding biogeochemical processes in marine and coastal environments. I also work on green nanotechnology and biopolymers.

I received my PhD in Chemical Oceanography from the Department of Chemistry, University of Otago, New Zealand, in 2017, supported by an International Student Scholarship. Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed an M.Phil. in Marine Chemistry in 2011 and an M.Sc. in Hydrochemistry in 2009 from the Department of Chemical Oceanography, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), India. I obtained my B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Calicut in 2007.

My academic activities integrate teaching, research, student supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with a continuing focus on marine and environmental science and the application of chemical approaches to understanding ocean and coastal processes.
