I’m Veterinary graduate with my Bacholar as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Master and Ph.D in Veterinary Pathology and have worked as Assistant and Associate Professor of Veterinary Pathology. Before joining Qatar University in 2016, I was working as post doc fellow at University of Neuchatel, Switzerland. At Qatar University, I’m involved in teaching lectures and lab sessions of different courses including Biology II, Animal Histology, Human Biology, Animal Anatomy and Physiology, General Physiology and Cell Biology. My research interests are focused on the prevalence of toxigenic fungi and their metabolites in food and feed. I am also interested in exploring the effects of mycotoxins at the cellular and tissue levels on the various mammalian and avian models. In these regards, I love working on the effects of mycotoxins on humoral and cell mediated immunity. I’m also working on role of climatic changes on prevalence and molecular toxigenic profiles of fungi of food and feed. More recently, I am developing biocontrol strategies against toxigenic fungi and their mycotoxins using eco-friendly bacteria and yeast strains.
