I am currently an Assistant Professor and Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Qatar University. Previously, I served as the Head of the Arts and Social Sciences Department at the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza and worked as a Media Lecturer in the Media and Communication Technology Programme until 2018. Additionally, I held a lecturer position at the Department of Media and Political Science at the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine.
I earned my PhD from The University of Exeter, United Kingdom, my MA from Near East University, Cyprus, and my BA from the University of Gaza, Palestine. I have played an active role in developing media curricula for Palestinian universities as part of the National Initiative for Developing Media in Palestine, led by the Media Development Centre at Birzeit University in collaboration with UNESCO and the Swedish Government.
My teaching portfolio encompasses a variety of courses, including Basic Principles of Media and Communications, Digital Media (New Media), Public Relations, Communication Skills, and Media Ethics. My research interests focus on the intersection of Social Sciences and Media Technology, encompassing Media Studies, Media & Communications, Political Communication, Media Ethics, and Media and Resistance.
