Bio
Dr. Ujjal Kumar Ghosh is a chemical engineering academic who has worked in universities in different countries such as Australia, Malaysia and Qatar. Dr. Ujjal is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering at Qatar University. He has experience in teaching chemical engineering curriculum accredited by agencies such as ABET (In Qatar University), IChemE, Engineers Australia, Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) (In Curtin University). Dr. Ujjal received his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India in 2007. He also obtained M.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur in 2003. Prior to that he had received B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering & B.Sc. in Chemistry (Hons) from University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India. After his Ph.D., Dr. Ujjal had worked with University of Melbourne, Australia as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on Carbon Sequestration Project funded by Australian Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC) from 2007-2010. He then worked with Curtin University (Australia) in its branch campus located in Miri, Malaysia as a Senior Lecturer from 2010-2014. His research interest are in the field of carbon capture, water treatment, membrane separation, natural gas treatment, mathematical modeling. He had received several research funding including one from Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education & another from Curtin Sarawak Research Institute. He has been publishing his research consistently in various journals including Journal of Membrane Science, Chemical Engineering Journal & Desalination. Dr. Ujjal has received Early Career Research Symposium Fellowship (2009) from Australian Society for Technological Science & Engineering (ATSE) & CHEMCON Distinguished Speaker Award (2012) from Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE). He has also received Faculty Industry Experience Fellowship from Qatar Shell. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering, Hebei University of Science and Engineering, Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China.
