Short Biography
Dr. Tarryn NK Paquet is an assistant professor of Architecture and Urban Planning at Qatar University. She has a deep love of people – in all our diversity – and how we live together in urban spaces. She holds degrees from the Universities of Cape Town (PhD Arch. and TRP), Stellenbosch (MA Urban Geography) and Pretoria (BTRP cum laude), South Africa. Her research interests in the field of town and regional planning are multifaceted, encompassing a comprehensive approach to urban development. She is particularly drawn to strategic planning and policy-making, with a focus on crafting sustainable, community-centered strategies that respond to contemporary urban challenges. She is also an advocate for recognizing the history and identity of a place as such understandings assist in creating more meaningful and community-oriented urban spaces, all while respecting the unique heritage and narratives that shape our cities.
