- Prof. Sinan Marufoğlu obtained his Ph.D. from Marmara University , Istanbul, 1997.
- He appointed as researcher at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies and Islamic Countries at Marmara University, 1993-1997.
- He appointed as Assistant Professor at the Department of History, Manisa Celal Bayar University in Turkey in 2000, and he promoted to Associate Professor in 2005,
- He appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Humanities at Qatar University, 2008-2014.
- He promoted to Professor degree from Manisa Celal Bayar University in Turkey in 2014.
- He appointed as Professor at the Department of Humanities at Qatar University in 2021.
- His main research fields are on the social and economic history of the Ottoman Empire and the Arab provinces in the Ottoman era.
- He has many published books, articles and papers presented at the international conferences in Turkish, Arabic and English languages.
