I have been teaching for the past thirty years at Qatar University. During my career, I have taught many Organic Chemistry courses, including photochemistry & Research project. My research interests include Carbon dioxide conversion, Lithium Battery and organic solar cells.
My Elsevier’s Scopus H-index is 9 with 197 total citations. I have received various competitive grants as principal investigator from the Qatar National Research Fund, including Five National Priorities Research Program fund (NPRP) and Undergraduate Research Experience Program (UREP). I have authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and over 15 research abstracts and posters. I received the Fulbright Research Scholarship in 2011. I am supervising many students, research assistants and postdoctoral fellows in my lab and acted as a reviewer for many Chemistry journals. I served as a Dean of College of Arts & Sciences for five years. This deanship produced the accreditation of the chemistry program by the Canadian Society of Chemistry and accreditation of the biomedical program by NAACLS.
