Dr. Reem Khalid, Assistant Professor of English and Educational Leadership, received her Bachelor’s degree in Education and English language teaching from Qatar University in 1995, her MS in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom in 1996, and PhD. in English Education and Educational Leadership from University of Exeter, UK in 2016. She was the B.Ed Program Coordinator in College of Education, 2017-2019, Chair of the textbooks committee, 2018-2019, and the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the College of Education, 2013-2016. She was an active member of the QU Faculty Senate in 2010 and represented the college in different university level committees, including Campus Wide Advising and Retention Committee (CWARC), Student Academic Progress Committee (SAPC), CCPEC Enhancement Committee, and QU articulation committee with CNAQ and CCQ. Dr. Reem also represented the college and QU in different community level committees, including the Qatari National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education; the Education Excellence Award Committee, under the generous patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, May Allah Protect him; and the Committee for preparing an educational curriculum in traffic safety for students of civil and military colleges in the State of Qatar, the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Reem  has extensive teaching experience and has taught a variety of graduate and under-graduate courses including Educational Policy in Qatar, Classroom Management, Research Methodologies, Student Teaching (Internship), English Humanities, and English Foundation courses. She has supervised master theses and her research interests cover a wide range of areas including ESL and EFL, and Educational Leadership.
