Bio:

Othman Althawadi is an assistant professor of marketing in the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University. He received his PhD in marketing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, USA. Althawadi earned his MBA with additional course work in management information systems from Creighton University, USA ,and his B.S. degree in marketing from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Saudi Arabia. Althawadi grew up amid a family business, giving him a first-hand appreciation for the unique challenges, opportunities and complexities facing families who own and manage a business. With his degree in marketing, Althawadi began his career at Saudi Telecom Company as a marketing researcher, later joining SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) as a customer account manager. After five years in sales and marketing, he was promoted to the position of business analyst in HADEED (SABIC affiliate) strategic planning Unit.
During his graduate study in the US, Althawadi participated in establishing two student associations, led community outreach teams, volunteered at conferences and cultural events and managed numerous projects carried out by student associations for local communities in Omaha, Neb., Carbondale, IL.
