Dr Mohamed Elbashir is a Professor of Accounting Information Systems at Qatar University.  He completed his PhD in the University of Melbourne in 2007. Mohamed had worked at various Australian universities including the University of Melbourne, the University of Queensland, and the Australian National University. Mohamed’s research interests are in the management accounting and accounting information systems areas with a specific focus on the use of business intelligence to support management accounting and controls systems in both private and public sector organizations. Mohamed’s publications have appeared in top-tier/international journals such as the Accounting Review, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, the Journal of Information Systems, Business Intelligence Systems; and in the proceedings of international conferences including the Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ), European Accounting Association (EAA) Congress, and American Accounting Association (AAA) Meetings. Mohamed also acts as an editor for the Journal of Information Systems, and ad hoc reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
