My Philosophy:

Signal Processing and Information Technologies are challenging disciplines in which to teach. Both fields are under constant and rapid development; arguably faster and more-so than any other discipline. It is thus essential that academic staff teaching in the discipline both keep up to date with current technological advances and are able to prepare and to present new, essential and quality teaching materials based on these advances. Students studying in this field have high expectations during their studies. Therefore, I sincerely believe that it is important to emphasize to students that much of Signal Processing centers around many recurring themes and that its strong theoretical basis and history continue to drive new research and development. I like the job as a teacher as I believe I can share with my students my knowledge, ways-of-thinking and help them learn a particular subject in a way that I learned it the best. I think in teaching especially, “how to learn” has the highest priority and usually the toughest part of the job. To do so, I do my best to make them participate and “do the stuff” by any means possible e.g., by accomplishing real-life projects, lab exercises, and frequent Q&A sessions.
