Dr. Mohamed Shibl received his Ph.D. from the Free University of Berlin (Germany) in 2006 where he finished his first postdoctoral research. He returned to Cairo University (Egypt) and became an assistant professor (2008-2010) and then moved to the Texas A&M University in Qatar as a research fellow (2010-2012). He worked as a visiting scientist at Cornell university (USA) in 2013. He visited Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and Rostock University (Germany) several times. Dr. Shibl worked as a senior researcher at the gas processing center, Qatar University (2015-2017). He served as an assistant professor at the department of chemistry and earth sciences, college of arts and sciences, Qatar University (2018-2022). He joined the Center for Sustainable Development in 2022 as Research Associate Professor to be part of the renewable energy program. In 2016, he was appointed an associate professor of computational chemistry position at Cairo University. His area of expertise is molecular simulation and modeling that extends between Quantum chemistry and dynamics applied in different fields, namely, renewable energy like water splitting, biofuels, etc. He supervised several Masters and Ph.D. students.
