Biography

Myriam Jaam is a dedicated and accomplished Lecturer at the College of Pharmacy, Qatar University, where she has been making significant contributions to pharmacy education and research since 2018. Her journey in the field of pharmacy began at Qatar University, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from 2010 to 2015 and graduating with distinction. Driven by her passion for clinical pharmacy, Myriam pursued her Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy Practice at the same institution from 2015 to 2017, again graduating with distinction.

Her master’s thesis, titled “Barriers to medication adherence in patients with uncontrolled diabetes in a primary healthcare setting in Qatar: A mixed method triangulation study,” laid the foundation for her future research interests and contributions to the field.

Prior to her current role as a Lecturer, Myriam served as a Teaching Assistant of Pharmacy at Qatar University from February 2018 to May 2024. This experience allowed her to develop her teaching skills and contribute to the education of future pharmacists. Throughout her academic career, Myriam has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing pharmacy education and practice through innovative teaching methods, rigorous research, and active involvement in professional development activities.

Myriam’s research interests span a wide range of important areas within pharmacy and healthcare. She has focused on pharmaceutical care interventions, medication adherence in chronic diseases, pharmacy education and assessment methods, interprofessional education in healthcare, and evidence-based pharmacy practice. Her work in these areas has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals and presentations at international conferences.

As an educator, Myriam has extensive experience teaching various pharmacy courses, including Professional Skills, Pharmacy and Healthcare, Pharmacotherapy, Integrated Case-Based Learning, and Research Evaluation and Presentation Skills. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for the challenges of modern pharmacy practice.

Throughout her career, Myriam has been recognized for her exceptional work. She has received awards for her research and academic excellence, further testament to her dedication and skill in the field of pharmacy. Her active involvement in various academic committees and professional societies demonstrates her commitment to advancing the profession.
