Dr. Maher Khelifa is Associate Professor in the Psychology Program, Qatar University. Maher holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Sport psychology and Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas, USA. Maher worked at the University of Kansas, the University of Tunis; the National Center of Sports Medicine, Tunis; Zayed University, UAE;  and Exeter University. Maher provided several national and international consultancy services and has a score of refereed publications to his credit. Dr. Maher was the sport psychologist and performance counselor for Tunisian elite athletes and Tunisian national teams from 1996-1999. Maher’s earlier research focused on the psychological determinants of peak performance. His current research centers around issues of youth identity and delinquency, family strength, family adjustment and well-being, globalization and behavioral changes of youth, cross-cultural counseling issues, cross-cultural teaching and learning issues, undergraduate research scholarship, psychological determinants of radicalism, and psychological and cultural determinants of risk behaviors.
