Dr. Abdellatif is an Associate Professor of Economics, Department of Finance and Economics, College of Business and Economics, Qatar University. He is teaching a number of economic courses including microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, public economics and economic of taxation. Further, Mahmoud is the founding Director of Center for Entrepreneurship (Currently Center for Entrepreneurship and Organization Excellence), College of Business & Economics – Qatar University from September 2013 to August 2022. He used to overlook the Center core activities including research, training, entrepreneurship programs and incubation for startups. He has secured funding from a number of institutions such as Qatar Foundation and Qatar Financial Centre. He has published widely in the area of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation policies, fiscal policy, and taxation. Prior to joining Qatar University, Dr. Mahmoud has worked for Qatar Ministry of Commerce & Industry as a planning expert. He was in charge of developing and implementing critical planning policies. He also worked for the Egyptian Tax authority as member of Tax Appeal Committee. Dr Abdellatif holds a PhD from University of New South Wales (Australia), where he specialized in policy incentives and taught courses in Economics and Policy. He was awarded the World Bank Scholarship for his Master’s degree in Economics from Keio University (Japan). He has experience to work with regional and international institutions, such as, Arab Planning Institute and International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation.
