Dr. Lehbib Bellia is an Assistant Professor in public policy, planning and development in the Department of International Affairs – College of Arts and Science of Qatar University (QU) since 2020. He obtained his PhD and university habilitation in Political Science from the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations – University of Algiers (3).
Prior to joining Qatar University, Dr. Lehbib worked as an executive cadre in the Algerian Customs Administration, after obtaining a specialized post-graduation diploma (Master) in Public Finance from the customs and fiscal economy institute (IEDF) in Algeria.
After he holds a master in Political Science, he joined Abdelhamid IBn Badis University – Mostaganem (Algeria) as an Assistant Professor, then he promoted to an Associate Professor after obtaining his Ph.D. and university habilitation in Political Science.
He worked as an assistant to the head of the Political Science Department, and head of the disciplinary council for the same department, and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Constitutional Law and Political Institutions, issued by the Laboratory of Constitutional Law and Good Governance, as well as head of the research group “Comparative Political Systems and Societies” of the same laboratory.
He was also a member of many research laboratories and research projects, such as the laboratory entitled “Analysis and Design of Media Models in History, Sociology, Economics, and Politics”, and the laboratory of “Dialogue of Civilizations, Cultural Diversity and Peace Philosophy”, and the research project concerning “Assessing the performance of the University of Mostaganem in the light of Maghreb Quality Assurance Standards AQI-UMED”, and the research project about “Social Entrepreneurship in Algeria: Association Initiatives and Environmental Challenges”.
