Biography
Dr. Kazeem Babatunde Yusuff is a professor of clinical pharmacy and practice and a thoroughbred academic with an impassioned commitment to making a difference that benefits at the individual and, organizational levels. He obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University in 1987, Master of Pharmacy (Distinction) and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 2000 and 2008 respectively. Dr Kazeem joined the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Administration, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan, Nigeria as Lecturer II in 2002, was promoted to Lecturer I in 2005 and Senior Lecturer in 2009. He had an exciting 15-month academic adventure in the Department of Pharmacy Administration and Practice, Rhodes University, South Africa. In pursuit of his career vision for outstanding excellence, he joined the College of Clinical Pharmacy, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia in 2012, and was promoted to the associate professor grade in November 2016. Dr Kazeem joined the College of Pharmacy at Qatar University (QU) as an associate professor of clinical pharmacy and practice in January 2019 and was promoted to the full professor rank in July 2023.
Dr Kazeem has successfully supervised several research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has also served as internal and external examiner for master and PhD projects in Nigeria and South Africa. He has also received and efficiently managed generous funds from QU (internal grants) and Qatar National Research Fund (UREP grants). Dr. Kazeem has published several original research articles in varieties of leading high-quality reputable peer-reviewed international journals, and currently serves as an associate editor to two high quality peer-reviewed international journals (PLOS ONE and BMC Health Services Research).
Dr Kazeem has served with distinction in several administrative positions in Nigeria, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. A few of these administrative engagements include acting sub-dean (undergraduate) and acting Head of the Department (University of Ibadan, Nigeria), Chair, Postgraduate Committee (King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia), Member, Higher Degrees Committee, (Rhodes University, South Africa), Chair, Program Learning Outcome Assessment Committee (Qatar University, Qatar) and Head of Department, Clinical Pharmacy and Practice (Qatar University, Qatar).
