Home

Prof. Kaltham Al-Ghanim as  professor in Qatar University have a high record of  conducting research related to urbanization, human and cultural development, political participation, workers rights , youth studies , work values, divorce and family relations . She has authored three specialized University academic books and published several studies in the area of political participation, labor rights, violence against women, and domestic violence. She published several folklore and cultural studies, she authored several  studies in field of local knowledge and sustainable development. She had a major role in preparing documents, printed material, and media publication for the Central Municipality as part of the activities of municipality council Elections, 1998-1999. She played an important role in formulating the strategies plan for Supreme Council for Family Affairs 1998-1999 , She participated in the committee for establishing the center for family consulting in 2002 , Social Rehibition Center 2010 and  Behavioral Health Care Center 2014.

She was the main author for the first national human development report for Qatar 2006. She participated in preparation of the labor force strategic plan and prepared the plan. Head of the Strategic plan team in the Ministry of Culture 2011-2012, and Prepared the strategic plan for Qatar Heritage and Identify Center 2012 .Work as a local cultural expert  for Qatar National Museum 2011-2017.Participate in the preparation Qatar file for the registration of Al Zubara city within the World Heritage and the Palm tree Heritage file to be submit to the UNESCO. Dr. Kaltham leads several research projects funded by various national and international institutions. Dr.Kaltham lead  the Medicinal Wild Herbs research project and Joint project with Leeds University about the Nature and Language. She play major role in preparing several memoranda of understanding between Qatar University and international universities, research centers , research funding agreements and conferences with several local institutions.
