Dr. Khalid A. M. Al-Saad Al-Kuwari obtained his BSc in Chemistry from Qatar University in 1991. He completed his MSc in Analytical Chemistry in 1997 from Washington State University (WSU) from Pullman, WA, USA. The thesis subject was “The Effect of Temperature and Relative Humidity on Response in an Ion Mobility Spectrometer”. Dr. Khalid continued in the same University (WSU) to obtain his PhD in Analytical Chemistry in 2003. The title of his PhD thesis was “Analysis of Lipids by Matrix-assisted Laser Desorption/ionization Mass Spectrometry”. After obtaining the PhD, Dr. Khalid worked as faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences in Qatar University. During this time, he held two administrative positions (as Head of Central Laboratory Unit and as Head of Chemistry and Earth Sciences Department). He has been active in research and has been awarded 6 NPRP projects in which he was the LPI in three. Also, he was awarded 10 Undergraduate Research Experience Programs (UREP). He has more than 40 published peer reviewed articles. His field of research is Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry with application on Environment and Biology. Dr. Khalid has worked as a head of the Chemistry and Earth Sciences department from 2016 – 2019. Currently Dr. Khalid is Professor of analytical Chemistry at Qatar University.
