I am working as associate professor of economics at the finance and economics department, College of Business and Economics, Qatar University. I received my Ph.D. degree in applied economics from Western Michigan University and conducted my post-doctoral studies at Michigan State University. I gained my teaching experience from teaching in different countries: Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and the U.S. In 2004, I received the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award from the Graduate College at Western Michigan University, and in the academic year 2006-2007, I was awarded the Fulbright Research Grant from the Fulbright Commission in Egypt. My main fields of interest for research are the economics of R&D and technology changes, macroeconomics, and public finance. My research papers appear in international journals such as Education Economics, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Atlantic Economic Journal, Economic Issues, and Energy & Environment. I am the coauthor of Economics textbook, the Arab World Edition, Pearson Inc.
