Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud is a Full Professor at the Department of Private Law, College of Law, Qatar University, specializing in civil and commercial pleadings, arbitration and ADRs, and seconded as an expert and consultant at the Supreme Judicial Council of Qatar, and also he is a Professor at the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University (Egypt). He joined as a faculty member in many academic institutions in the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council countries (Oman – UAE), and he joined Qatar University since 2016 as an associate professor and then was promoted to the degree of full professor in February 2022. He received his Ph.D. in Law from the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University (Egypt – Cairo) (2011), and has done two post-doctoral missions at Lyon III University (France) and Georgetown University (USA) (2013). He is fluent in French and English. 

Dr. Ahmed has written books, researches and working papers in many conferences, seminars and research seminars in the field of pleadings and arbitration. He also received with a team grant of two million Qatari Riyals from the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) to fund a project entitled “Towards the Development of the Sports Legislative Structure in the State of Qatar as a Requirement for Organizing Major Sports Events” NPRP13S-0204-200253.

Dr. Ahmed is a lawyer before the Egyptian Court of Cassation, the Supreme Administrative Court and the Supreme Constitutional Court, and as a legal advisor (licensed) with many local and international law firms, in civil and commercial disputes such as constructions contracts, bank and corporate, oil and gas contracts, and family disputes.

Dr. Ahmed is a certified international arbitrator and practitioner at the Paris International Arbitration Institution (IAI), an accredited arbitrator at the Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA), the African Arbitration Corporation (AfAA), the GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre, the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), the Vienna International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), and the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre (OCAC). He is a member of the London Court of Arbitration (LCIA) and a member of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce in Paris). Dr. Ahmed was Deputy Director of the Arbitration Center of the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University from 2011 to 2013. 

Dr. Ahmed teaches and trains in several entities in Qatar, including: Qatar University Continuing Education Center, Qatar University Law and Development Center, College of Law, Qatar University, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Chamber of Commerce (Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration), Supreme Judicial Council, and Investment and Commerce Court. Dr. Ahmed participated in comments on many national and Arab legislations and on the decisions of the Egyptian and Qatari Court of Cassation.
