Unpublished Research (Degree Thesis)

Master Degree Thesis: University of Birmingham, Sept. 1975 “An empirical study investigating the technical and mechanical aspects of the free throw”. This empirical study assessed the mechanical aspects of acquiring and performing specific motor skill. Also, it investigated the importance of the skill through the analysis of 105 matches played at National and European championships level.

PhD Thesis: University of Birmingham, Sept. 1978 “An investigation into some aspects of the social facilitation phenomenon in sport with special reference to the effects of expert audience on performance.” This psych-physiological study used psychometric and physiological tests to explore the effect of audience on performance of motor tasks with different levels of complexity.

2001–2003: Department of Trade and Industry – Science Research Investment Funding: to determine the level of physical activity that induces the optimal fat oxidation in children, to identify any variations in the optimal level due to factors such as gender and/or ethnicity.
