Huda Al-Murakhi’s main specialties lie in Biology, specifically plant chemistry. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology (plant chemistry) from the College of sciences-Qatar University. She, later on, finished her Master’s degree at Ain-Shames University in Egypt, where her M.sc degree was in genetics. She joined the department as Teaching Assistant where her task was mainly teaching Biology 101, Genetics, Microbiology, Bacteria, Algae, Fungi, Molecular Biology, and Plant physiology. Alongside teaching, she had the duties of scheduling all the courses for the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences. Also, she is the main advisor for male and female students in both biology and environmental majors. She previously was the Chair of the Lab safety committee, where she introduced safety procedures for lab students, as well as established the safety rules required for each lab. Currently, she is the Chair of the Schedules and Teaching Load Committee, where her duties are establishing the department course schedule for each semester, distributing the loads for each instructor, calculating the teaching loads for each instructor, and adjusting the schedule to suit both students and lectures. Also, she took the initiative in establishing the social committee for the department, where she organizes social activities for the faculty and the staff.
