Ms. Ghamza Saed AL Ghasal obtained her Bachelor in Biological and Environmental Science from Qatar University in 2010, and since then has been a key-member in the establishment of the Qatar University Culture Collection of Cyanobacteria and Microalgae (QUCCCM), initially under the Biofuel Project, and later under the Center for Sustainable Development. Over the past 12 years she has been responsible for isolation of over 200 microalgae, cyanobacteria and diatoms from the Qatari environment, and continues to develop and implement novel methods for isolation, purification, and (long-term) preservation. She has actively participated in multiple NPRP and industry funded research projects, and has co-authored over 13 publications in high-impact scientific journals.
