Adel Cherif is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and the Director of the Office of Academic Quality Affairs at Qatar University. He received his PhD in Information Science from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) in 1998, his MSc degree in Information Science from the same institution in 1995, and his Engineering Degree in Computer Science from the National School of Computer Science (ENSI), Tunisia in 1991. Dr. Adel chaired the Quality Assurance Committee at the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Qatar University, from 2006 to 2010 and the College of Engineering Quality Assurance Committee from 2007 to 2011. He lead the department and college efforts in preparing for ABET accreditation. Dr. Adel co-supervised the research work of two PhD students and nine Master students at JAIST.  He also served as session chair, member of the organizing committee and of the program committee of many international conferences and a guest reviewer for a  number of international journals including the IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS).
