Dr. Adel Elgharbawy is an assistant professor of accounting in the college of Business and Economics at Qatar University. He has worked as a senior lecturer in accounting and finance in Westminster Business School-London. Dr. Adel obtained his PhD from Brunel Business School-London, where he was working as a lecturer in Accounting before joining the University of Westminster-London. He also worked as assistant lecturer in Alexandria University, where he obtained his Bachelor and Masters Degrees.
His extensive experience was developed over 20 years of teaching accounting and finance modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching expertise is primarily in the areas of management accounting, financial accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, management accounting and corporate governance. His research focuses on management accounting, performance management systems, management control systems, corporate governance, corporate entrepreneurship, banking and financial crisis and Islamic banking and finance. He has presented his research in international conferences and published his work in international refereed journals such as Journal of management and governance. He also provides consultancy services in the field of corporate governance.
