It is governed by officers elected by a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aiys.org\/board-of-directors.html\">Board of Directors<\/a> who delegate responsibility for specific programs to designated committees. Day-to-day oversight of AIYS activities is provided in the U.S. by the AIYS Executive Director and in Yemen by the AIYS Resident Director in Sana&#8217;a.<\/p>\n<p>AIYS is a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers <a href=\"http:\/\/caorc.org\">(CAORC)<\/a> and of the Middle East Studies Association of North America <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mesa.arizona.edu\">(MESA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The President of AIYS is Dr. Daniel Martin Varisco and the Resident Director in Sanaa is Dr. Salwa Dammaj.\u00a0 The AIYS website has a list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aiys.org\/expert-guide.html\" target=\"_blank\">Yemen Experts<\/a> and a <a href=\"http:\/\/aiys.org\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">Yemen Webdate Blog<\/a>.
