Biography

Dr. Zaid Almaayah is an assistant professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the College of Pharmacy at Qatar University. Dr. Zaid received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in pharmacology and toxicology from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Dr. Zaid’s post-doctoral studies were carried out at the Cardiovascular Research Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta. Dr. Zaid has an excellent track record of success in research and teaching. He had published 54 peer-reviewed papers in reputable journals with a 29-h index, 44-i10 index, and 2100 total citations. Dr. Zaid’s academic and research achievements have been recognized through several prestigious Canadian awards, such as Killam, the Alberta Innovates Health Solutions (AIHS) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research awards. Dr Zaid received The Governor General’s Gold Medal for the best PhD thesis at the University of Alberta in the 2018 convocation. Dr. Zaid has diverse and extensive experience in molecular pharmacology and toxicology. His main research interest focuses on understanding the molecular mechanism of chemotherapy and sepsis-induced cardiovascular toxicity. Dr. Zaid is an academic editor and a peer reviewer of several journals.
