Dr. Yomna Saber received her PhD degree in American Studies from The Department of American and Canadian Studies, Nottingham University in the UK in 2008. She received her MA in Poetry and Criticism from The Department of English, Faculty of Al Alsun, Ain Shams University in Egypt in 2002.

She worked as TA, Lecturer and Assistant Professor at The Department of English, Faculty of Al Alsun, since 1998-2011 and joined Qatar University in 2011 and is currently working as Associate Professor of English Literature at The Department of English Literature and Linguistics, in College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches Comparative Literature, Poetry, The Short Story, Modernism, Women’s Literature, Capstone, in addition to Introductory courses in Literature.

Dr. Saber’s research focuses African American literature, women’s literature, ethnic studies and gender studies. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed top-tier journals, two books with Peter Lang and many book chapters with Brill, Palgrave Macmillan and Wiley. She has participated in local, regional, and International conferences as well.
