• Oral History and Cultural Studies Project Grant from QU 2015-2017.
  • Start-up grant from Qatar University (2013).
  • World Wide Scholars Fellowship (WWS) with the Master of American Studies at the University of Torino, Italy, including teaching MA students in American Studies and conducting research on Urban Cultures in/of United States. (Mid-February – Mid-May 2009).  Fully-funded scholarship from the Egyptian Government to obtain the PhD in American Literature from the School of American and Canadian Studies at the University of Nottingham. (2004-2008)
  •  Selected to participate as a member of the group of the Egyptian university teachers chosen by the Integrated English Language Program II (IELP II) to go to Oregon University in July 2000 and carry on projects that enhance teaching English for adults through computers.
  • Participating in the Egyptian delegation sent to Japan to be on the Program of Ship for World Youth in 1999 with other participants from seventeen different countries.
  • A scholarship to Germany (Bonn) in 1997 as a reward from Das Goethe Institut in Cairo for two months to attend a course in Das Goethe Institut there.
  • A trip to Europe (Germany – Luxemburg – Austria – France) in 1993 as a reward from the Egyptian Ministry of Education in collaboration with Al Jumhuria Newspaper for the outstanding achievement in the final year of high school.
