Many students enroll in PhD not knowing why, therefore they suffer a lot when they are faced with challenges they never expect. In this workshop, I give some quick advice to help existing, new, and prospective students set their “mindset” in this long, serious, and very important journey. I clarify some important issues that should be considered early on in your path towards a “valuable” degree.<\/p>\n
What is this workshop?<\/strong><\/h3>\nIf you are a PhD student, planning to be soon, or even thinking about it, you must have so many questions about the PhD journey. In this workshop, we discuss what \u201cmentality\u201d you should have as a PhD student (especially in the Arab world) and try to answer the questions that should concern you. Among the questions we discuss are: How should you \u201cthink\u201d as a PhD student? Why bother doing it? What should be your motivations and objectives? Is it all about \u201cgenerating publications\u201d? What makes your \u201ccertificate\u201d really valuable? Are failures \u201ca must\u201d in PhD? What skills should you have to be successful in PhD? Is being \u201csmart\u201d the most needed trait?\u00a0How can you build a supportive environment for your study?<\/p>\n
