{"id":24,"date":"2016-04-19T06:44:30","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T06:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/qufaculty.qu.edu.qa\/siham\/?page_id=24"},"modified":"2022-09-06T09:41:24","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T09:41:24","slug":"teaching","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/qufaculty.qu.edu.qa\/siham\/teaching\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I taught Organic Chemistry courses for Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical, Biology, Food &amp; Nutrition, Home Economics, and Nursing students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was teaching advanced organic courses and a Photochemistry course for Senior Year Chemistry Students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><u>Innovation Methods &amp; Active learning strategy in Teaching:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Used PowerPoint presentations,<\/li><li>ball &amp; Stick Models,<\/li><li>Socrative teacher and Flashcards technique.<\/li><li>Proficient with the use of BlackBoard 9.1.<\/li><li>Use of videos<\/li><li>Group work activities<\/li><li>Poster &amp; paper presentations<\/li><li>Writing a term paper<\/li><li>Using QR code<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><u>Teaching Duties<\/u><\/em><\/strong><strong><em><u>:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve been teaching for 40 years at Qatar University. I was involved in teaching, developing (*), and upgrading curricula (**) for several courses and laboratories, some of which are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><u>Teaching Skills:<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Demonstrated excellent presentation skills<\/li><li>Developed effective lessons and taught strategies<\/li><li>Able to remain calm and maintain an objective viewpoint under pressure<\/li><li>Motivated, encouraged, and built a relationship with students of all backgrounds<\/li><li>Provided individual tutoring to ensure comprehension of material content<\/li><li>Experienced in teaching Organic Chemistry<\/li><li>Adapted presentation of material to ensure complete comprehension by students<\/li><li>Experienced in making, conducting, invigilating, &amp; marking laboratory quizzes &amp; exams<\/li><li>Effectively presented material in an innovative context to stimulate interest and enthusiasm<\/li><li>Regular user of various search engines for keeping updated knowledge of chemistry techniques<\/li><li>Regular user of molecular chemistry models for teaching shapes &amp;
