Saïd Elbanna is a professor of Strategic Management at Qatar University. Saïd’s career has been marked by getting involved in various teaching and research activities at different universities in the Middle East, Europe and North America. His work centres on the practice of strategic management and the role of scholarly management research in developing organizations and society as a whole, especially in the Middle East. Saïd’s publications include more than 55 journal articles, a book, two chapters in books, 5 case studies, and more than 70 conference papers. He published in journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Journal of World Business, and Journal of International Management. Saïd received regional and international funding which amounts to about $1,420,000 for 20 research projects, 14 of them as the Key Principal Investigator. His teaching interests are related to strategic management, international management and small business management. He has, in addition, widely served as an advisor, consultant and trainer. Saïd co-organized several research events in management conferences such as AOM, EGOS and EURAM. His hard work has been recognized by receiving 21 awards, regionally and internationally, including the Journal of Management Studies best paper award, the Qatar University Research Excellence Award and the Abdul Hameed Shoman Arab Researcher Award. Nowadays, Saïd’s career is inspired by making an impact beyond academia that produces a real difference for our societies.
