Dr. Sameh Ammar is currently an associate professor of accounting at the College of Business and Economic, Qatar University. He has obtained his PhD in Accounting (specialized in Management Accounting) in February 2014 from University of Exeter Business School, UK. Since then, he became interested in researching management accounting practices per se in its context sensitized by theoretical lenses drawn on social and organisational theories with special interest in institutional theory. This shapes openness to methodological stances either qualitative and/or quantitative research to comprehend a phenomenon being observed especially accounting practices change and/or stability.

Real-life insights developed by cutting-edge research are infusing in Dr Sameh’ teaching classes through using case studies or accounting in action in teaching (management) accounting courses such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounting Information Systems and Financial Statement Analysis at undergraduate program; and Advanced Accounting Information Systems, Advanced Cost and Managerial Accounting at postgraduate program as well as Advanced Managerial Accounting for Decision Making for MBA program. These courses have been taught at different reputable universities including Qatar University in Qatar, University of Exeter in the UK, Libyan Academy and Al Zawiya University in Libya.
