I have been teaching for the past 24 years in Australia and Qatar. Throughout my academic career, I have taught a wide range of finance‑related courses, including Financial Derivatives, Finance for Entrepreneurial Ventures, Insurance and Risk Management, Investment and Risk Management, Investments, Islamic Banking and Finance, Corporate Financial Management, Financial Institutions and Markets, Islamic Financial Markets and Institutions, International Finance, Financial Market Analysis, and Business Mathematics. I have been a faculty member at Qatar University since 2007.
My research interests span several areas, including green bonds, sustainability, fintech, ownership structure, capital structure, firm performance, and the application of Logit and Probit models in both cross‑sectional and panel data. Additional research areas include investment decisions, stock market performance, risk management, credit management, default risk modeling, Islamic banking and finance, and economic growth. I have made outstanding research contributions with international impact. I have published more than 55 peer‑reviewed scientific papers in prestigious global journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, with impact factors reaching up to 12.8. In addition, I have presented more than 40 research papers at international conferences.
In addition to my academic experience, I have worked in the banking and insurance sectors. My professional background includes roles as an insurance agent at ALICAO, as well as positions in financial services, deposit operations, credit analysis, risk analysis, and the foreign currency, investment, and facilities departments.
