Peter Polak Springer earned his PhD in History at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, USA. He is an interdisciplinary and comparative historian, whose work focuses on transnationalism and cultural politics in borderlands and contested spaces in Europe and the Middle East during the 20^th century. Among his published research is a monograph on nationalization politics and identity in the German-Polish contested borderland of Upper Silesia, 1918-1967, as well as articles and chapters on topics, such as oil politics, borders, and contested spaces in the Gulf, and religiosity and nationalism in interwar Palestine and Poland. Other topics he has published on include Palestinian press encounters with anti-Semitism in 1930s Europe, Syrian refugees in Germany, as well as historical culture and memory in the Gulf. He teaches undergraduate courses on topics in modern European and world history as well as History of Qatar.

حصل بيتر بولاك سبرينغر على الدكتوراه من الجامعة روتغرس في نيو برنسويك، نيو جرسي، في الأوليات المتحدة وهو مؤرخ الذي يقوم بالبحوث المقارنة بين أوروبا والعالم العربي خلال القرن عشرين ومع تطبيق العلوم البينية. ويركز بحوثه على عبر الوطنية والسياسة الثقفية في المناطق الحدودية وأماكن المتصارع عليها في أوروبا والشرق الأوسط خلال القرن عشرين. ويحتوي منشوراته العلمية الكتاب عن سياسة الوطنية والهوية في المناطق الحدودية بين المانيا وبولندا، كما ايضاً المقالات عن سياسة البترول، ورسم الحدود، وأماكن متصارع اليها في الخليج، بالإضافة إلى البحث المقارن عن السياسة والقومية في فلسطين وبولندا بعد الحرب العالمية الأولى، وعن اللاسامية في أوروبا خلال عصر الثلاثينات من منظر الصحافة الفلسطينية، وعن اللاجئين السوريين في المانيا، وعن كتابة التاريخ وسياسة الذاكرة في الخليج. يدّرس عدة من المقررات لطلاب البكالوريوس عن مواضيع في تأريخ أوروبا الحديثة وعن تأريخ قطر
