Dr. Mai Al-Naemi is the Associate Vice President for Academic Planning and Quality Assurance at Qatar University (QU) and an assistant professor of Management at the College of Business and Economics.

 

Dr. Al-Naemi earned her Bachelors (B.Sc) in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University with University Honors (2011). She holds a Masters (M.Sc) in Decision Sciences (2013) and a PhD in Management (2020) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she also completed the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (2023).

 

Dr. Al-Naemi’s research focuses on diversity, identity, and career capital in the multinational corporations. She actively participates in international research conferences to present her work and contribute to the most recent developments in the field. Her research has been nominated for various prestigeous academic awards in the field of international management. In 2024, her latest paper won the Carolyn B. Dexter all-academy award in Chicago, USA. In 2025, another paper has been nominated for the UofSC-Douglas Nigh Best Paper in Multidisciplinary Research Award. 

 

Over the past 10 years, Dr. Al-Naemi has developed a diverse teaching portofolio in both the United Kingdom (UK) and Qatar, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. At QU, Dr. Al-Naemi has taught an array of courses. In her classroom, she provides a platform for students to discover their passion in business and inspires them to pursue their dreams through providing the knowledge and tools for it.
