My area of specialty is  cardiovascular biology, physiology and immunology. My research achieved an international recognition from the American Physiological Society;&nbsp;I awarded the Caroline tum Suden\/Frances A Hellebrandt Professional Opportunity Award for Meritorious Research (1999).&nbsp;  I joined the  the Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) in 2000- 2006 and Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences (DBES) 2006-present, during this period I taught several introductory and advance courses  in general biology, histology, immunology, animal anatomy and physiology. My extensive teaching experience involves  supervision of UG , MS and PhD research projects. I served as head of the department (DBES) for six years (2006-2012); during this period I restructured the department and worked with colleagues to introduce new interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate curricula  in Environmental Science. I involved in initiation of pioneering research labs and project such as biofuel, cell culture and molecular biology.
