My name is Hamda Al-Naemi , I earned a PhD in Physiological Sciences from College of Medicine, University of Arizona. My area of specialty is cardiovascular biology, physiology and immunology. My research achieved an international recognition from the American Physiological Society; I awarded the Caroline tum Suden/Frances A Hellebrandt Professional Opportunity Award for Meritorious Research (1999).  I joined the the Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) in 2000- 2006 and Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences (DBES) 2006-present, during this period I taught several introductory and advance courses in general biology, histology, immunology, animal anatomy and physiology. My extensive teaching experience involves supervision of UG , MS and PhD research projects. I served as head of the department (DBES) for six years (2006-2012); during this period I restructured the department and worked with colleagues to introduce new interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate curricula in Environmental Science. I involved in initiation of pioneering research labs and project such as biofuel, cell culture and molecular biology. In parallel I founded the laboratory animal research center that helped to introduce animal ethics, research, and training to the local scientific community.
