ملخص السيرة العلمية

هيثم سرحان باحث أكاديميّ وأستاذ علوم اللغة العربيّة وآدابها وحضارتها في قسم اللغة العربيّة في جامعة قطر. وقد أعدّ أطروحتي الماجستير والدكتوراه في الجامعة الأردنيّة. وعمل باحثًا زائرًا في جامعة كاليفورنيا – بيركلي، وجامعة تورنتو، وأستاذًا مساعدًا في جامعة فيلادلفيا.

لهيثم سرحان ثلاثة كتب مؤلّفة هي: “استراتيجية التأويل الدلالي عند المعتزلة، (2012)”، و”خطاب الجنس: مقاربات في الأدب العربيّ القديم، (2010)”، و”الأنظمة السيميائية: دراسة في السّرد العربي القديم، (2008)”. كما ساهم في نشر مجموعة من البحوث في كتب جماعية، وعدد من الدراسات المنشورة في مجلات علمية محكّمة. علاوة على مشاركته في عدد من المؤتمرات الدولية، والندوات المحليّة والإقليميّة. وهو عضو في رابطة الكتّاب الأردنيين، وعضو في هيئة تحرير عدد من المجلاّت، ومحكّم في عدد آخر منها. حصل الدكتور هيثم سرحان على جائزة ابن بطوطة لأدب الرحلة (2018)، وجائزة الصندوق العربي للثقافة والفنون (آفاق) (2008).

Haitham Sarhan academic researcher and a Professor of Arabic Literature and Science at the University of Qatar. He prepared his master’s and doctorate thesis at the University of Jordan. Haitham Sarhan was a visiting researcher at the University of California – Berkeley, and a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto – Canada, and an assistant professor at the University of Philadelphia.

Haitham Sarhan is the author of three books: “Strategies of Semantic Interpretation of Mu’tazilah” (2012), and “Sexuality Discourse: Comparative Approaches in Classical Arabic Literature” (2010) and “Semiotic Systems: A Study in Old Arabic Narrative” (2008). He also contributed to the deployment of a range of research in collective books, and a number of studies published in scientific journals . Furthermore, he participated in international conferences, and local and regional seminars.  He is a member of the Jordanian Writers Association,    and a member of the Editorial Board of several journals, and an arbitrator in the last number of them. Professor Haitham Sarhan received a scientific award from the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (Horizons) (2008).
