Short Biography:

Dr. Goze Bayram is an Assistant Professor (August 2021-present) and Coordinator of Graduate Studies in the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning at Qatar University.

She has been teaching at several universities since 2011. Her research topics are energy-efficient high-performance building design, retrofitting projects, building energy performance simulation tools, architectural lighting, climate-responsive building design, architecture and urbanism in the Middle East, as well as the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.

She holds double-major undergraduate degrees. She received her BSc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Yeditepe University, Turkiye in 2005 and her Bachelor of Architecture from Eastern Mediterranean University, Famagusta, TRNC in 2010 with full scholarship. She got her Master Degree in Restoration from Dokuz Eylul University, Turkiye in 2012 and her PhD degree in Architecture from Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkiye in 2015.

She worked as an Architectural Project Manager (in the field of Heritage Conservation) in the private sector for about four years for the physical, social, and economic sustainability and revitalization of the Kemeralti Historical City Center of Izmir, Turkiye.

She also has practical experience as an independent lighting designer and has prepared historical building lighting projects that were implemented.
